June 2026 Kona Fishing Report – Reel Havoc Sportfishing

June has delivered exactly what anglers hope for in Kona, beautiful weather, calm seas, and outstanding offshore fishing action.

These first two weeks in June have produced some impressive catches aboard Reel Havoc, including quality ono (wahoo) and exciting striped marlin action. One standout trip produced a beautiful ono stretching over four feet long and showcasing the speed and power that make these fish one of Hawaii’s most sought-after catches.

The striped marlin bite has also been a highlight of June. One unforgettable trip featured a young angler on his very first deep-sea fishing adventure. Not only did he land his first striped marlin, but he followed it up by catching a second marlin later the same day. Watching a young fisherman battle and successfully land two billfish on his first offshore trip is something our crew won’t soon forget. The excitement on board, combined with a spectacular Kona sunset, made for an incredible day on the water and memories that will last a lifetime.

Water temperatures have remained favorable, bait has been plentiful, and the conditions continue to set up nicely for summer fishing. While blue marlin are always a possibility in Kona’s legendary waters, we’re also seeing opportunities for striped marlin, ono, mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna (ahi), skipjack tuna (aku), and other pelagic species.

If June is any indication of what’s ahead, the summer fishing season is shaping up to be outstanding. Whether you’re an experienced angler chasing your next trophy fish or a family looking to create unforgettable memories, now is a great time to fish Kona’s world-famous waters.

Tight lines,
